The Return…

July 19, 2009

OK, since it seems to be the worst kept secret in the TBFL, please welcome back Hunter in his return to the Bandit Division. Based out of Columbus, OH, ‘The Crew’ do sport the colors of -THE OTHER- local CBUS team….but I think it is more of a pimp slap at ….I don’t know…. some other owner….than it is any kind of actual homage to the Nut Lovers.

2009 FRANCHISE PLAYER STATUS

I have had some official notifications, and various conversations with some league members where they have stated what they will do and where we have guessed at what other people are thinking.  Just to give everyone a heads up to the current Franchise Player picture and to help people make the final decision with their on the fence players, I’ve compiled the following list of both confirmed, supposed, and rumored franchise players:

Continuing Updates

July 6, 2009

Glad to see so much activity this early in the pre-season – can only believe that is a good sign for the coming season….

As you have probably noticed, I’m working on updating the site appearance and navigation….but I’ve forgotten alot of the CSS I learned when I first put together the current look – so bear with me while I try to piece it back together.
As you may not have noticed – Team Helmets and logos are coming back.  I finally figured out how to properly use Team Icons and Images…at least I think I do……I have a good higher resolution image for the helmets than the old one I used to use and am working to create new ones or imitate the old ones to the best of my ability.  If you are thinking of changing a team name or logo for this year (as the Cows may well be…) then NOW IS THE TIME TO TELL ME !

RULEBOOK CHANGES

I started scouring through last year’s message board posts about suggested rulebook changes and realized we never gave a final say on some issues:

1. Trade Deadline – With the new rules for trading future year draft picks in place, the importance of moving up the trading deadline was discussed.  Ultimately to be more in line with NFL rules we are going with Week 7 being the trading deadline.  It is at the just over mid-point of the season as opposed to the old Week 10 deadline.  This means the rule that does not allow any released players drafted in the first three rounds to be picked back up by any team will change as well and I will have to monitor that a few weeks longer…

2. A ‘Losers Playoff’ – It was suggested we have a seperate playoff for the bottom six teams, and everyone seemed to think it was a good idea, but we never agreed on what the official prize for being ‘Best of the Rest’ should be.  I am in favor of instituting this change with the reward being that team getting their choice of draft position.  This way they can draft the next year from where they see the best opportunity and the worst team in the regular season (if it is not them) will still draft no worse than the #2 slot…

3. Contextual Changes – Questions were presented last year about some verbiage that related to back before everything was automated on the MyFantasyLeague site.  I am re-writing those sections to more accurately reflect the current technology…

4. Warriors made a suggestion that really drew no discussion at all about making changes to Defensive Scoring, specifically stating:

up the points already and allow for negative points too!

Since there was no other real discussion of it, I have no plans to change it.  I’ll give you guys this week to discuss it before I finalize anything….
